For the first 22 years of my life, I experienced physical, emotional and sexual abuse and witnessed domestic violence.
I had one person I could count on through it all, that was my dad. So when he suddenly passed away, my whole world fell apart and I was devastated.
I thought the problem was that I would never see him again, and if he would just come back, my problems would be solved.
But that wasn’t really the problem. The real problem was much deeper than that.
What I learned from this experience, was that my relationship with my father was a buffer for all of my unhealed trauma. And that’s why the pain ran so deep.
Because this pain ran so deep, I was determined to heal, because I knew I couldn’t live the rest of my life miserable.
This pain that drove me to heal from this experience changed my life in incredibly positive ways and I wouldn’t be where I am today.
I now work with people who feel held back by trauma and grief completely break-free of their pain so they can flourish and thrive in every area of their life.
And I’ve just released my best-selling book: The Grief Cure, A Revolutionary Guide to Healing from the Loss of a Parent.
1. How did you get into the work of helping people break-free from trauma and grief?
2. Why did you write your book?
