Sitting at my dining room table I felt utterly and completely alone. The world was closing in. A malicious law suit by a hateful man threatened at every turn. He openly declared he was out to destroy me. I had a property on its way to foreclosure and the person with whom I’d entrusted my life’s savings turned out to be a thief. Mounting attorney’s bills, and $9 in the bank when sitting at that table, I had a physical sensation like a switch just flipped off inside me and that’s when my hair started falling out.

I’d always had truly beautiful hair, lustrous and ebony brown. Watching it fill the sink when I brushed it made me crazy, so I shaved my head. Well-meaning strangers approached me offering their prayers. I couldn’t stand their pity, so I put on a wig to masquerade as “normal.” After 13 years, I took ownership of who I am as I am. I took off that wig and took on my dreams! I boldly stepped into my power and life has been an unprecedented adventure ever since.
