Teresa Barnes, RN has had a hearing loss since birth, therefore understands the nuisance of hearing loss both personally and professionally as a former emergency room head nurse, mother, and active citizen. After a life-threatening accident for not hearing a warning shout from behind and the realization that hearing loss was the leading invisible disability, has a huge stigma, and a lot of unmet needs. Teresa federally registered the Hearing Friendly Symbol, developed the Certified Hearing Friendly Training Program, and is founder of HearCommunication a business education company.

Teresa is a graduate of UCSD with a BA in Communications and a California Board Registered Nurse. She took a life-threatening ski accident for not hearing from behind.
