A seasoned performer, instructor and event curator, Kayah Alexandra is a native of Sacramento, California and official Dallas, Texas transplant.
Kayah received her Bachelors of Fine Arts in Dance from Howard University in Washington, D.C., where she kickstarted her professional career choreographing for the 2011 production For Colored Girls Who Have Considered Suicide When The Rainbow is Enuf and dancing as a guest artist with Kankouran West African Dance Company. In addition to performing original works by choreographers including Matthew Rushing, Ulysses Dove and Twyla Tharp, she has performed in Stumptown Stages’ West Side Story (Anita), Dallas Theater Center’s Fly! (Ensemble), Jay Cameron’s Fame and Timberlake Playhouse’s Christmas Kaleidoscope.
Upon closing her 5th and final season with Dallas Black Dance Theatre, Kayah has been featured in comedic commercial roles for Knock.com, Poo~Pourri, Self Inc. and ClearCorrect, and continues to teach barre and Schwinn stadium cycling the DFW metroplex.
