Dr Ted Grellner DDS – Theodore J Grellner DDS, PA – Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery

Dr. Grellner is an oral surgeon in Tampa, Florida, after having trained in his dental specialty at Wilford Hall USAF Medical Center, Lackland AFB, San Antonio, Texas.

With over 30+ years of practice in oral surgery, Dr Ted realized what drove him to improve every aspect of the wisdom teeth removal experience: his own terrible experience with a wisdom tooth when HE was a 19 y.o. college student.

Learning from the many mistakes he made with his own wisdom teeth, he is teaching parents WHEN is best for teens to have their wisdom teeth removed along with the many reasons WHY.

Dr Ted has refined a unique anesthesia technique he calls QuickRecover IV Anesthesia to significantly improve the recovery, comfort, and safety of IV anesthesia for oral surgery.

Dr Ted developed multiple ways to reduce the discomfort that follows wisdom teeth removal. When using all the “tools” in his multi-step protocol to reduce post-surg pain, teen patients are now recovering with minimal need for narcotic pain meds, adult patients with a shortened course of postoperative pain. This is a significant improvement over what patients experienced 30 years ago. “Dry sockets” are also a thing of the past.

He is author of the book titled: “8 Secrets About Teeth EVERYONE Needs to Know”” (Amazon) and a best-selling author in the book titled: Guerrilla Marketing: Thought Leaders”

Dr Grellner’s interests include photography, music (former principal oboist for a large volunteer orchestra – Tampa Bay Symphony), travel, former runner (completed 6 marathons (last was the NYC Marathon)), biking, golf, reading, entrepreneurship, cooking, yoga, etc.

He is the proud father of 2 accomplished adult children, and 4 rescue animals: 2 dogs, 2 cats (they find him).

Media Pitch

Many of us who are parents have had our wisdom teeth out. You? Pleasant experience??? When asking this of large audiences I get many chuckles to that last question because it seems to be a right of passage to adulthood to suffer the wisdom teeth removal experience. I was one of them
With over 30 years of experience removing wisdom teeth from all ages, I have learned WHEN is the best time to do so for a better, safer experience than at any time later in life. I have information parents of teens need to hear because they’re likely not getting it from anyone else including their own dentist.
In addition, I’ve dramatically improved the IV general anesthesia experience so that awakening from it is as close to waking from a nap, with no nausea, as possible. I’ve found ways to reduce post surgery pain as well as we strive to reduce the need for taking addictive opiods for pain.
The experience I can provide teens is a far different one than I experienced myself at 19. I will share with your audience the 3 huge mistakes parents need to avoid with theie teens wisdom teeth, along with the abc’s of how to deal with their wisdom teeth.
