Twenty years ago, Alisa Clickenger had a dream in which she was running for her life. In waking life, she was in the middle of a painful divorce. Within this dream, she found salvation in the form of a motorcycle and sped away from imminent danger. Never having ridden a motorcycle before, Alisa awoke with the sensation of mastery over machine and wind in her hair. The metaphor of motor‐cycling saving her life has become increasingly clear to her, and in 2006, Alisa quit her job as Director of Operations for an IT company and decided to re-invent herself as a moto-traveler and journalist.

In 2009-2010, Alisa went on a seven-month, solo motorcycle journey from New York to Argentina, riding through Mexico, and Central and South America by herself. She’s ridden across America, from East to West and from North to South, on dirt roads as well as on pavement multiple times. Other motorcycle trips have taken her to Alaska, all over Europe, India, Israel, and Southern Africa. In the summer of 2017, she borrowed a bike in Bosnia and rode all over the Balkans for a month by herself.

Alisa’s book “Boost Your Confidence Through Motorcycling: A Woman’s Guide to Being Your Best Self On and Off the Bike” became an Amazon.com #1 Bestseller and in 2019 Alisa was named a Dealernews TOP 100 People In Powersports. Alisa has a regular column in “Motorcycle Consumer News” and contributes to several other magazines.

In 2016 Alisa organized the highly successful Sisters’ Centennial Motorcycle Ride, leading more than 100 women across the USA on motorcycles. Alisa is now organizing yet another epic event scheduled for August of 2020, the Suffragists Centennial Motorcycle Ride (SCMR2020), in which she will lead more than 1,000 women across the USA and into Washington, D.C. in celebration of the passage of the 19th Amendment, Women’s Right to Vote.

Alisa’s mission is to support and empower other riders, particularly women, to achieve their two-wheeled dreams. Sharing the wisdom she’s gained on the open road, Alisa is now a coach for women who want to grow their business, mindset, dreams, and capacity.

Through her female-focused motorcycle touring company, Women’s Motorcycle Tours, Alisa offers life-changing experiences on two wheels.
