It Was a Dark and Stormy Book Club

We are the founders of the It Was A Dark and Stormy Book Club, an interactive podcast/book club for mystery lovers. Our club is a new one but we are growing steadily. We are looking for the next great mystery writer. We know they are out there!

We are contacting publishers of mysteries to ask that you pass along this letter to your publisists who may have an author who fits into this mold. We would be happy to read and possibly highlight his or her book(s) on one of our episodes.

Our focus is to promote reading and to feature our first love, the mystery genre. We have asked members to read the book we assign and then we have a comprehensive discussion in two weeks. Members can listen at their own pace. We publish an episode every week. In addition to the assigned book episode, we publish a shorter episode every other week that highlights books bookclub, mystery book store or authors that we think our members would like to read

Our hosts are Ann “Dark,” Tracey “Stormy” and Kathy “Night.” We are not experts but make every attempt to give a fair and unbiased review of the books we read. We have also had interviews with several authors that we have made a part of our broadcast. We have interviewed, either by written questions or a live phone interview, thus far: Steven Axelrod, Elizabeth Kane Buzzelli, Lauren Carr, Michael H. Rubin, Katia Lief, Celina Grace and T.G. Campbell (Bow Street Society). The authors we have talked to have been very supportive and gracious with their time. We also have a new segment called “In Agatha’s Footsteps” where we interview seasoned mystery authors to share there expertise.

If you would care to check us out, our website is That will give you links to all of the episodes we have published thus far.

We are happy to promote authors who are not yet household names, but probably should be. The only thing we ask in return is that the author promotes our book club via their social media.
